Design & Engineering (Feature Truss Package)
Traditional Timber Truss Design and Engineering Service
Are you looking to build your own traditional timber truss but need assistance detailing your design and producing engineered working drawings for council approval and construction? Our in-house design service can guide you through the entire process, helping to bring your vision to life.
Why Incorporate a Traditional Timber Feature Truss?
A traditional timber feature truss can achieve a dramatic visual effect while keeping the construction process of the building largely unchanged.
Service Package Includes:
Initial Design Consultation: We provide an initial set of 3D rendered images to specify the overall design and dimensions.
Revisions: Up to two sets of revisions are included before the completion of engineered drawings.
Engineered Drawings: A comprehensive set of engineered drawings for council approval and the construction process.
Important Notes:
Scope of Design and Engineering: Our service covers only the traditional mortice and tenon truss. Additional engineering required for the foundations, supporting walls/posts, and roof structure is the responsibility of the building designer.
Scope of Design & Engineering: This package covers Design & Engineering of a single Truss profile. For complex roof structures requiring more than 1 truss design, please get in touch to inquire about our Design package to best suit your needs.
Local Regulations: Hidden steel fixings may be required to meet local regulations. These can be designed to be completely hidden once the truss is installed.
Locations: Some areas may require additional engineering approval, please reach out to discuss your options.
Quality of Joinery: Traditional timber framing requires extensive knowledge of the craft to execute correctly. The quality of joinery directly affects the strength of connections and the overall frame. This work should be undertaken by a trained carpenter, and Heartwood Traditional Building Pty Ltd takes no responsibility for the execution of work done outside of our contracted commissions.
Additional Work: Any work carried out after the completion of the two revisions and finalized engineered drawings will be charged at $120 per hour.
Let us help you create a stunning traditional timber truss that will stand the test of time. Contact us today to get started!
